4Handy!  Sep 11, 2009 By Jennifer Munson "mom of vasa previa survivor"
I bought 2 of these for my kids. They never REALLY made that much of a mess but it just seemed handy. Our stopper on the bottom of our sink is missing so it's now the toothpaste lid graveyard. Hopefully my husband will clean out the graveyard one of these days. So far, so good! My kids love it, it encourages them to brush their teeth and sorta makes it fun. Mine don't leak and I expected it to get a little goopy with toothpaste from kids (and grown-ups) hitting the sides of it when you pull out your toothbrush with toothpaste on it. Wiping it down every few days won't be a problem for me. Now they are available at Bed Bath & Beyond so NO MORE SHIPPING!!! And they still come with the pathetic "sonic" toothbrush that you need earplugs to operate.

1Leaks toothpaste, doesn't stick to my tile  Nov 03, 2009 By Becky Stanley "Becky"
I was hoping this product would help save space in my very small bathroom, but now I think all I've done is given myself a hole to have to fill in the wall.

After it fell off my tile wall three times, I decided to run a decking screw thru the top suction cup instead (removing the original screw) and affixing it to the wall above where my tile starts. NOW it won't fall off! (To be fair, I have yet to find ANY suction-cup based utensil that will stick to these tiles. Don't know why, either, as they are smooth and shiny, not the fancy porous tiles that I really do like.)

So after manually affixing the unit to the wall I proceeded with reinstalling the tube of toothpaste, primed it, used it, and walked out of the room to continue with my evening. A couple of hours later I walked back into the bathroom, and several "servings" of toothpaste (Crest Pro-Health Cinnamon flavor) had accumulated on the push lever below the silicone dispenser. I cleaned this up and left it for the morning.

This morning I got up, and the lever was covered with toothpaste again. This is very frustrating, as I got this unit to keep from having to cleanup toothpaste messes. Instead this adds to the mess, and is wasting a ton of toothpaste in the process.

Maybe it's just a lemon, but somehow I think not. I'm not going to change to a lesser toothpaste just to (hopefully) satisfy a dispenser. I'd send it back, but between the newly added hole and the cost to ship it I will just chalk this up to a lesson learned. At least I have the correct paint to cover over the filling of the hole in the wall I created...

5Excellent product  Aug 23, 2009 By Glenda Moore "GJWM"
My husband and I are both pleased with this toothpaste dispenser. We had been using the "jar" type dispensers with the flip-open lids, leaving them upside-down in the medicine cabinet for readiness, but that just gummed up the lid. This dispenser - though it admittedly takes up a significant amount of space on the medicine cabinet mirror - does not leak, does not ooze, and just quietly works. It will end up being worth the money, because the jar-type dispensers are more expensive than the big tubes which work with this dispenser. I like that the tube of toothpaste is hidden under a clean white cover.

1DONT BUY THIS!!!  Mar 15, 2010 By Crystal R. Vega
I bought this for my kids (5 & 12) because they had been talking about it and also I thought it would be nice not to have toothpaste all over the bathroom anymore. HA! The first thing that I noticed was that there was still a big toothpaste mess in the bathroom only this time all over this touch and brush and the wall right below it. UGH!!! It does not fit all tubes of toothpaste like the commericial states, only generic ones. Then it started falling off the wall. It will not stay up there for anything. My husband wanted to superglue it to the sticky pad that it came with but I am just going to toss the piece of garbage. I am tired of it falling and I am tired of the mess it makes. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! big mistake!

2A gimmick that works only if you're lucky  Oct 27, 2009 By ventingisok
This is a novelty that my 8 year old girls wanted, apparently it appeals to their sense of cool bathroom. It did to me as well, only because I was getting tired of keeping the toothpaste tube clean.
It works with a silicon holder that has a hole in the middle. The tube nozzle is squeezed into this hole which holds the tube and makes the system air tight. Below the holder is a kind of bellow system. I am assuming the workings here, so if I am wrong, please correct me. By pushing on the lever with the brush, the air is pushed out of the bellow and creates the vacuum that sucks down the paste. For this system to work, as in the laboratory conditions of the tv commercial, the nozzle must be thin and long enough to fit properly into the holder's hole. I also think the plastic that the tube is made of must be just thin (flexible) enough so that the vacuum can suck down just enough paste.
Neither of these conditions met ours and this dispenser did not dispense enough amount, the tube slid out of the holder, and only the most careful placement of the brush would leave the lever clean of the paste. Only good thing about this was its 2 large suction cups that made it kind of a struggle to remove it for cleaning. I returned it for refund. I do think this taught my kids a good lesson about what they see on commercials. I always try to teach them to see the commercials with certain doubt, and this was a good hands-on lesson.
I also can't say enough about the power of rating system and reviews on Amazon. Without the Amazon backing me up, I never would have gotten the refund, as in the bad old days. In fact, I waited for this product to show up in Amazon before trying it. I gave my seller a "good" rating.
