What a joke Jun 29, 2010
I bought this for my husband for a joke as we've seen it advertised and thought it was quite funny. It truly is a joke. It amplifies EVERY sound you hear. If you are trying to listen to someone in the backyard talk to you quietly from a distance, you hear them and the birds, and the cars, and the wind REALLY LOUD. I guess it didn't specify that it only amplified human voices. Silly me.

Don't bother with this item.

I PURCHASED THIS FOR MY 94 YR OLD MOTHER BECAUSE SHE WAS IN CONVALESCENT HOSPITAL & COULD NOT HEAR HER TV UNLESS IT WAS TURNED ON LOUD WHICH BOTHERED HER ROOM MATE-BUT IT WOULD NOT STAY IN HER EAR & I TRIED EVERY SIZE-THINKING SHE COULDN'T DO IT PROPERLY-I TRIED THEM IN MY EAR & IT WOULD NOT WORK UNLESS I HELD IT IN MY EAR WITH MY FINGER (ANY SIZE) I WOULD HAVE RETURNED IT BUT MISPLACED MOST OF THE "PARTS" ANYWAY IT DIDN'T WORK FOR US

This is a piece of junk, pure and simple. I went to charge it up for 4 hours BEFORE the first use as the directions said to do. It shut off after 1 hour and 40 minutes. When I went to hear with it, there was no appreciable sound amplification. My sister, who has excellent hearing, tried it and said the same thing -- NO APPRECIABLE SOUND AMPLIFICATION. Do not waste your time with this Chinese-made piece of junk. Amazon.com gave me a FULL REFUND -- including the price of postage required to return it. So, it is 1 star for the Stealth piece of crap, 5 stars for Amazon.com for their customer service. But, Amazon.com should remove the Stealth Secret Sound Amplifier from its product list.

I got it but never recieved any extra soft ear pieces and it lays on the desk .it doesn't work !!!!!!!!!

This is a sound amplifier. It works very well for what it is - which is a sound amplifier. It's not so powerful that it makes it hard to use, and it's not so weak that you wonder what it's for.

I bought this for my elderly friend who really needs something for her hearing but she is discouraged by the complaints she hears from friends who do have hearing aids.

I've been wearing it for a couple hours, myself, to test it out for her. It's unobtrusive. It made it much easier to hear some things at first, including the noise made by turning pages of a book. By now, I'm used to it and there's very little overwhelming trivial noise to bother me.

One thing I notice is that my own voice sounds clearer and closer to me as I speak. I think this would be very useful for someone who sings - it's kind of like having your own private microphone.

Here's an important handy hint: it kept slipping off my ear and I couldn't figure out why. I finally wound a rubber band around the black flexible arm and that gives it the traction to stay on my ear. I don't know why this was necessary but it is what helped me keep this in place.
