 Works Beautifully, Perfect for Older Persons or Physically Challenged Jul 22, 2010
This works either as a regular Clapper (you know, "clap on, clap off") or as a remote control switch. So, you can turn on up to two lights or appliances by pressing one of the two buttons on the remote control. It's a fairly sophisticated device, hence the hefty price tag. It has adjustable sensitivity if used as a clapper, and even has a vacation feature where it will turn on a light if a noise triggers it. The unit plugs into the wall outlet and up to two lamps or appliances plug into the unit. This is perfect for my older mom, so she does not need to lean out of the bed to shut her bedside lamp after reading. The remote works even with the unit BEHIND the bed - I worried at first that the signal would not reach the unit but there was no problem. It is easy to use and the directions better than most.

I bought it for my daughters room to plug the lamp that sits across the room. my daughter kept tripping over the extension cord used to plug the lamp. The on/ off switch outlet is at the entrance and my daughter kept tripping over the extension cord and the extension cord kept bending. The solution was the clapper plus. The downside is that if you plug the lamp to the two claps the lamp would turn on triggered by various sounds, from coughing to music playing, but if you plug the lamp to the 3 claps mode it works great!

The "Clapper Plus" is just another example of more Chinese under-designed, under-tested, useless junk being shipped to unwitting Americans. This unit lasted merely six weeks before malfunctioning and thereafter was relegated to the dumpster. Don't waste your money.

The clapping feature does not work in my bedroom. The remote works well and that's good enough for me. The remote works with two different outlets, although a wireless light switch may be better if you prefer a switch to a button.

The clapper is amazing! I gave it to my friend for her birthday and she loved it. When you combine entertainment with functionality, you get a great product.
