My husband needed some natural light at work and so I got this for him. We tried it at home when we got it and it started hurting our eyes. But we gave it another try and my husband is using it at work now, since his window got blocked for construction. We purchased this version since it does not have the touch on/off - it's just a regular on/off switch. Another review mentioned that the touch version can short out.

Update: my husband just doesn't use it anymore. It really does not live up to its description - it's too bad, since it does seem like a good idea.

We use this light on a church organ. It gives a nice, even, widespread light that is plenty bright. However, the body is all plastic and the adjustment pieces don't seem real strong, so we are not sure how it will hold up. But so far so good!

I don't know about the release of seratonin and reduction of melatonin in my body, but i love lamp. It does give you the color contrast as if the sun was shining and not the yellow tint that regular light bulbs give off. I bought this one because i read reviews about the other "touch" version and sometimes the touch lamp wouldn't work, so i bought this one with the regular on/off switch. Great lamp, but it got 4 stars for the price. I just don't feel it is worth $40 and every replacement bulb after that is about $7 give or take. If you don't care about the price, then I would recommend it.
