 Well fitting and grippy but does not insulate as well as cheap cotton mitts May 27, 2010
The gloves fit my small hands quite well and allow for alot more dexterity than conventional mits. The silicone strips really help with the grip. However, they don't protect against heat as well as cheap cotton oven mits. I find that I can only hold onto hot items for less than a few seconds before feeling the heat. No, the gloves were not wet...bone dry. I never should have thrown away my cheap cloth oven mits.

I use these gloves all the time I make a fire in the fireplace. I can move hot logs around and it also works great in the kitchen.

Like other reviewers I believed that these gloves were the catch-all purchase of the year. I bought them and they fit beautifully, though my hands looked awfully big when I wore them. I used them for the oven, I used them around the house... however they truly are not meant for dish washing OR skiing as anyone would believe. They got VERY wet when using them with water and they weren't adequate for anything below 40º much less the -10 in which I went skiing. In addition the grip was a little odd for ski poles. They did function well when I went inside and had a cup of hot coffee which would have scalded my hands if I was not wearing my ove gloves.

This is my second set of Ove Gloves, that's how much I liked the first set. However, the first set just became so stained, I decided it was time to start anew. I have also given them as gifts to relatives and friends, and they all love them. You really can pick up extremely hot plates, bowls, casseroles, pans, pots and move oven grills without harm to your hands. Try 'em, you like 'em.

It's nice to finally be able to remove a hot dish from the oven without the risk of burning myself.Highly recommended.
