Can you hear me now? No. Jul 17, 2010 It does work in the sense that it will send the audio over the radio, but the problem is that what comes through is very quiet, much quieter than the actual radio (meaning you'd better turn the radio off before turning off the jack). It is also very tinny. I had to boost my bass, treble, and volume all the way up to get anything approaching listenable. Also, this was in a parked car with the engine off. I can't recommend it for whatever price it is on here, nor the ten bucks that I paid for it. Put the small amount of money toward something of better quality.

Good idea, poor execution, cheap Gadget Jul 17, 2010 Face it, this device is for folks who want hands free, but want it cheap. Yes, it is easy to use, yes it is small, yes it does what it says ( to a point)
BAD POINTS. Because it does not have a cigarette lighter power supply, you have to rely on the internal lithium coin cell. 50 hours talk time, That is about 1.5 hours a day for a month. This is why the power of the output is low. More output, less talk time and the batteries arent cheap. Flimsy design, drop this a few times or use the on/off switch too much and it will not last long. The sound quality isnt very good and will feedback through the system if you have it too loud.
ALSO! MICROPHONE? What microphone? The Jupiter Jack does NOT HAVE an in built microphone, it uses your Mobile phones mic. So you need to be near the phone and it needs to have a good mic with good sensitivity for folks to hear you. The Jupiter Jack merely uses the headphones output of the phone and converts it into an FM signal which is picked up by the radio. The mic in the phone is the one that picks your voice up, so this accounts for the varying results that people get.
Only having 2 frequencies of output means that if you travel or move out of an area, then local radio will break in to the signal and you will get static or other noises. I have an FM transmitter for my iPod and it has 4 memories and also a manual tune and I still have to change frequencies on a journey.
To sum up: If you dont travel far and dont talk much and the 2 frequencies that the Jupiter Jack has are not the same as any nearby local radio station, then this just about does what you want. It is however a bit of a cheap gimmick and will not replace a proper hands free kit. Set you expectations low and you wont be too let down
Great for the money Jul 12, 2010 If your expecting to spend $20 and to get a stock bluetooth device in your car then you're cheap! However, for the money you spend, this works great! Very easy to use as long as if you're in an SUV that you have a mount so it's close to your voice and the car is relatively quiet. Obviously wouldn't work as well with the windows and top off a Jeep! I love it and feel very safe using it. Would definitly recommend it to anyone who doesn't already have bluetooth in their car and hates holding a phone while driving.

DONT BUY THIS JUNK May 17, 2010 This product looks nice and is easy to use-----BUT---- The stations you must tune your radio to are loud Spanish channels that make using this item TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE. In my opinion --It is a piece of junk.

It works, but not in all cars. May 13, 2010 Bought this at MicroCenter for $9.99 b/c I saw it on the local FOX News where they test out "as seen on tv" products. They gave it a thumbs up, so I went ahead and bought it. I immediately tried it in my boyfriends car (03' Acura MDX) and it didn't work on either station settings. He called me "gullible" for buying it, and I agreed.
However, when on my way to return the product back to the store, I tried it "one more time" in my car (92' BMW) while was parked in the garage, and it worked! I called my boyfriend, and he said it actually sounded pretty good. I agree with the other users saying that you have to turn the volume up, and there is a little feed back the louder you turn up the volume. But as a hands free device for $10, it not bad at all. I will try it one more time while driving (i.e. highway driving noise) to see the sound quality.
I plan on keeping this a little longer, but I will hold on to the receipt. ; )
