I did not purchase this from Amazon. Big mistake. If I had I would have gotten a much better price! The peeler works well but the julienne peeler that comes with it works ok. You have to be careful. It does not work on everything! The teeth bend. I called Samurai and they do not return calls. By the way they (not Amazon, but Samurai) says they will 'throw in the julienne peeler for free' and you pay shipping and handling. Shipping and handling is almost $9.00 per piece! We paid s/h for two peelers that were shipped in the same box. Now remember this was not purchased from Amazon, and that was our first mistake!

this is the best peeler for carrots and potatoes but it really shines on delicate fruits like peaches and mangoes. It's really sharp and takes off just the peel without digging in or catching the fruit. I got them for my adult kids as well and they love them.

This peeler is serrated, so it leaves some of the peel on the veggie. It makes paper thin "slices" that are "scalloped" or wavy, and super thin. It takes forever to "slice" anything.
I think this tool is very specialized, so I never use it. I never have a need for such thin slices. I suppose it would be good for garnishing, but that's not what it's advertised for, and not what I wanted.
Also, it's very cheap and flimsy.
I would suggest a regular, full-sized mandolin for slicing, or a thin slicing disc for a food processor.

The blade on this peeler is fabulous but the handle keeps detaching from the blade head which makes using it madding. The blade shaves even the most delicate peach skin off but you have to keep shoving the head back on the handle. Fix this one problem Home Smart Samurai Speed Peeler and you'll have a 5 star.

"do not believe everything you hear or see"
I bought this after seeing the similar Titan was not availible at the time. I wish I had not wasted my time clicking upon this link. The product arrived quickly so the seller was not a problem. The problem was that the first time my wife used it the handle snapped off right at where the handle attaches to the peeler itself. I sent it back and Amazon refunded my account promptly.
