2Amazon Changed the Product Discription  Jul 21, 2010 By Hugh R. Williams
A few day ago Amazon had this item for sale and called it an Bell and Howell UltraSonic Solar Animal Repeller. I ordered two of them. When I rec'd the items I immediately noticed that there was nothing Solar about these items as they require 4 AA batteries in each unit even though the Production description indicates "It's weatherproof and solar powered." It may be weatherproof but certainly not solar powered. The Product Description says "Weatherproof Garden Stake Included Rear mounting bracket- screws included to place on tree or fence." Neither the garden stake or the rear mounting bracket screws," were included.

I'm pleased to see that Amazon has changed the product description for this item. I was given the option to return the items for a refund. However I had to return the items within 5 days. I decided to see it they work as advertised. Obviously 5 days is not enough time to determine whether this animal repeller works. I guess I could borrow a dog from a neighbor and see what happen when I lure the dog into the garden.

BTW when the items were rec'd there was no packing slip or return information included with the shipment.

Lesson learned, in the future I'll do more research prior to buying items when Amazon is not the direct seller.

1Not Solar - 40% restocking fee  Jul 23, 2010 By El Dub
As previous review indicated (unfortunately before I ordered), this item is not solar. It was titled as Solar powered. Seller (not Amazon) charges a 40% restocking fee for items shipped free.

5Great results!  Jun 28, 2010 By Grandma Sue
We had problems in our yard with a cat who used one of our planters as her litter box, but now with the animal repeller, she no longer jumps into the planter. Also we had a lot of other critters running around the yard, especially at night, but not now. Keeps the squirrels out of the flower bed in the front of the house, too. We purchased 2 of them, one for the front yard and one for the back yard, and are very happy with the results.

1not as ordered  Jul 26, 2010 By Robert L. Tippit
Let the buyer buyer beware. I never realized this item was not being sold by Anazon. It came today and is not solar power and without stakes.
It's too much much of a hassel to return to the TV guys. I'll take my loses.
Amazon should warn customers if they are not going to back up up products as advertized.

2not a solar device as advertised!!!!!  Jul 23, 2010 By nitehauker
This repeller is from carol wright gifts. One reason I ordered it was it's being advertised as solar powered.
This thing is not solar nor does it have the mounting stake. I will not pay to ship it back and face a restocking fee on top of that. As far as I'm comcern, This is a case of misleading advertisment. I called carol wright gifts and repoerted the problem and was told since it was ordered thru Amazon I should call them. I will not order from this company again. Totally pissed about this.
