It's ok...not sure I'm going to keep it. Apr 18, 2011

As another reviewer mentioned, many of the photos show the writing to be a bright neon greenish color, which is not accurate. It's really grey writing on the black board. Hard to read in dim light. Fine in good light. I'd have to agree with those who say this is a glorified white board. Nice thing is you don't have to keep a cloth handy to wipe it clean. Disadvantage over a white board is you can't selectively erase. And, as others have mentioned, there is no way to save the notes, unless you take a photo of it. I read some of the reviews before purchasing, so I knew these things beforehand. I was still intrigued by the item, since I'm a gadget freak & decided to give it a go, anyway. I'm not sure I'll keep it. I like it but think it's overpriced at $40. From the reviews I'd read, the best purpose of this board is if someone can't speak (for whatever reason.) (Someone suggested this use in one of the reviews.) It's a great tool to write questions or answers on, quickly & then clear & write the next answer/question. Also, I keep wanting to "clip" the stylus to the board, when done. But there is no clip. ;-) You could probably DIY by adding a small bit of Velcro to the board & the pen. The second generation of this item may be nifty, though.
9/13/11 - I ended up not returning this. I think I waited too long to return through Amazon. No biggie though. I kind of like it. Don't mind that I still have it b/c I still use it. Would I purchase again based upon what I know now? Probably not.

4 year old birthday Jun 16, 2011

I bought this for my 4 year old daughter's birthday knowing that it did not have a save feature and knowing that it may be a little hard to read. I figured she could have fun with it while arround the house or out for drives. As expected, she loves it. What I did not expect is for her 7 year old sister to like it so much that she promised to do the dishes for a whole month if we got her one too LOL. See, so in a way, this thing can do your dishes too hahahaha.
In all, I give it 5 stars because it more than met my expectations for the purpose in which I bought it for. Also, yes in certain lights it may be a bit difficult to read, but for a child, the possibilities are limitless and High-Def is irrelevant and immaterial.
She is practicing spelling her name and words she learns at school, something she can continue to do over the summer.
For older children, give them a math problem. Let them work it out and show you the answer, then erase it and give them another one.
For adults, leave it on the counter or refrigerator to write down a quick note for your spouse or kids. Leave a good morning note for your family to see if you are someone that leaves for work before they get up. Use it for grocery list, then jot down what you really need on a slip of paper before you leave and cross it out on the board leaving what you still need to get. We don't always buy everything at the same store.
For Computer overclockers like me, use it to temporarily jot down your voltage settings of your most recent overclock just in case you have to reset. Also can be used to write down parts that need to be ordered for a new computer you are building.
For elderly or someone taking daily medication, write down the last time you took your pills and leave it next to your pills, just in case you forget if you took them or not.
See, many uses for many ages. Hope this helps with your decision.

Pretty Awesome! Dec 19, 2011
By Pantech Impact I love this. It is a nice change from the old paper and pencil. I use this to study (write down names/events and quiz yourself on it), and I doodle a lot. I think this product is going to last a long time! I don't mind that it can't save.....I just use it like a piece of scrap paper. Also, the pink is a really nice color and adds the right pop to it!
NEAT LITTLE BOARD Jan 15, 2012

We purchased 3 of these for gifts and one for ourselves at Christmas. Works great for those quick reminders and easy erase later in the day. We have ours on the refrigerator and created a piece of velcro to attach stylus pen; wish it had a permanent pouch for that; otherwise, very satisfied!
A little dim.... Dec 23, 2011
By JAO I bought this tablet for my 7 year old since she loves the smart boards that they have at her school. This tablet seemed like it would do the trick and is much cheaper and practical. The pictures they show on Amazon are a bit misleading as the writing is not that dark and prominent. It's impossible to see what you have written or drawn in dark light but if you are in sunlight you can see it just fine. It also would have been nice if they included different types of styluses to use with it. All in all, for 40 bucks, it was worth it, my daughter enjoys it.
