Very poor quality Sep 06, 2010
By Greg Very poor quality. This can't be used as a reading device because the acrylic window is actually a fresnel magnifying lens (needs to be held above the page). And it does not make a very good reading magnifier because the lens quality is very poor. This purchase is going in the rubbish!

Poor Quality Sep 19, 2010
By A. Witters Was not of much use as I could not read as the words appeared cloudy. Would not suggest buying these.

Very cheaply made and flimsy. The LEDs on mine blink on and off any time the battery cover is touched, or if the LEDs accidentally touch the page. I've removed and reinserted the batteries without any improvement. Not something I'd recommend to others or give as a gift.

Don't bother buying this piece of junk! Nov 18, 2010
By D. Flynn This is the most awkward, cheap piece of crap I have ever bought! It doesn't fit over a book page, you have to wrangle it around to make it work. The magnifier is blurry and causes a lot more wrangling around. Save your money and buy something you can actually look at and check out.

Good for the light, magnification could use improvement Apr 29, 2011
By DOmedicalstudent I bought this for my mother who is big into genealogy research right now. She brings her research with her where ever she goes and is up at random hours in the night working on more genealogy. This light is great for use in the car and in any dark room when she does not want to disturb others. It is bright enough for her to read by, but does not make a noticeable difference in the ambient light in a room.
It is probably about the size of a normal page in a novel, so it doesn't illuminate a whole computer page when laying flat. My mom actually like this size, because it cover about half the page while slightly enlarging the text for easier reading. It is also very thin and can be used as a bookmark if you have to put down your reading for a few moments.
She was actually looking for a lighted magnifying lens, which unfortunately this does not quite qualify as. The magnification of this device is weak (as indicated by the level of magnification in product description) but also tends to distort the image. I think this is partially because of the texture of the reading pane. The distortion can be overcome by the way you hold the device, and is not too bad, but worth mentioning. (distortion not present when device is laying flat on the page, but when this close it is not magnifying)
