Gimmick Apr 11, 2011
By Mark Vangemert
"Just D Fax"
Just got two of these in the mail a few days ago and finally had the chance to evaluate it. True, I don't have the lab to test for "Swine Flu" but can tell you that this device is way under powered to be effective (it's powered by 2 AA batteries for crying out loud). I took this unit apart for further investigation and it appears to be a single LED light (yes, LED) and some thin wirs which puts this units valuation at about $1.75.
I was hoping for the best when I ordered this as the bacteria in your mouth which can consist of herpes simplex I (from people you come in contact with), influenza virus, staphylococci, streptococci, along with other bacteria that may cause diarrhea as well as gum disease.
I have since gone back to dipping my brush in antibacterial mouthwash daily and replacing it every month.

Great Product- despite less informed reviews Aug 15, 2011
By J. J. Ives Please do not be swayed by the first ill-informed review. Why he thinks 2 AA batteries is somehow not enough "power" to kill germs with UV light is beyond me, other than a complete lack of understanding of how UV light works. UV is UV- if the light is on, it is effective at killing germs, whether LED or not. A brief description: "Ultraviolet (UV) light is electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light, but longer than X-rays, in the range 10 nm to 400 nm, and energies from 3 eV to 124 eV. It is named because the spectrum consists of electromagnetic waves with frequencies higher than those that humans identify as the color violet." The reflective metal in the unit insures that the UV light radiation envelopes the head of the brush completely, killing all germs.
This product works perfectly, with out the nasty residues left by antibacterial mouthwash- which, by the way, does NOT sterilize the brush, but simply kills some bacteria. Sterilizing your toothbrush is FAR more effective then dipping it in antibacterial mouthwash! Antibacterial mouthwash does NOT kill viruses like Herpes, staph or strep!

I Hate It When People Review A Product When They Know Nothing About It! Aug 07, 2011
By Primo123 I bought three of these on Woot for $1.99 each and kept one, and gave the other two to my kids. So cheap I didn't even read the reviews, and then I did, and felt like I got ripped off at the $1.99. I remember a phone my Dad had as a kid and when you hung up an Ultraviolet light came on to sterilize the head set. The smell still is in my head 30 years later, and after I got the toothbrush, and after I used it I opened the case and smelled, and yep that is UV smell all the way. Does it work I don't know yet. First I googled does UV light Sanitize, yes it does. Then I googled UV LED's and yes they are there, and they are cheap, and I know it is a UV LED because of that smell you will never forget. My Son said they were doing mold studies in Class and he asked the Instructor if he could do a test on the tooth brush, and he said yes, and they used Petri dishes. So one toothbrush was used everyday by one student, and then put in a toothbrush holder on the counter. The other toothbrush was used by my Son and then put in the zero germ holder. 2 weeks later they took a swab on both brushes using distilled water and then incubated them, and after 3 day's there was growth in the one left in a toothbrush holder, and none in the Zero Germ holder, and none in the distilled water control dish. Skip forward 10 day's and the one in the toothbrush holder was really bad, and completely full. The one in the Zero Germ had very little growth if any, and the control dish had nothing at all.
I was going to trash these based on 3 reviews from people that knew nothing except trying to trash a company. I have seen many products on Amazon with good, and bad reviews, and always I have been able to evaluate a product before buying it. However this is the first time I have seen a product smashed with no evidence of it not working. One person tore it apart to find an LED, Why would you do that in the first place? The other got it, and never used it, threw it in a drawer, but had time to rip it and review it. The third Say's it has a plutonium chip in it, but it's not strong enough to nuke the back, LOL. I just don't understand reviews from some people.
As seen on TV products, are $19.99 plus shipping, and handling. Sometimes you get 2 if your order in the next 30 minutes LOL, but a separate shipping and handling fee applies, LOL.
I wouldn't even waste my time writing this review, on such a cheap product, but because of the test, and the price I think this company got a real bad shafting from some real jerks who admittedly know nothing about it.
$7.99 new and $4.99 from others new, yes I would order if mine breaks down. I'm a guy that kept my toothbrush on the counter, and never got sick at all, but that petri dish was disgusting. I used to brush, I rinse, I spit, and throw the toothbrush on the counter, now I put it away. D. Smith says I don't share my toothbrush even with my best girlfriend, I do.

You Gotta Be Kidding Mar 30, 2011

Well, if the owner of the company writes the first five star review then we know its jut got to be a winner. What? You're kidding! You can't possibly care that each one of these uses a plutonium chip to sterilize the bristles while leaving the plastic at the back of the toothbrush just as dangerously germ ridden as it went in. Myself, well, I don't share my toothbrush even with my best girlfriend. Great gag gift, that would be the only way to promote it.
Seriously, this item is a solution (a poor solution) in search of a problem that it won't solve.

great product Nov 21, 2011
By R. Howard I bought this at Walgreens when it first came out. I used everyday and I actually felt better and felt it was working so I wouldn't get sick that often. Mine rusted out so that might be my only complaint. I have to get enother one because I know it works.
