Bell & Howell Silver Sonic XL Aug 21, 2010
By Jon E. Brubaker The Silver Sonic is a very good product and almost hearing aid quality. Easy to use but like hearing aids also makes the background sound you don't want to hear louder. It is great for watching TV without driving everyone else out of the room and having conversations with store clerks and friends. It is a lot cheaper then a hearing aid. Mine cost over $6000 dollars, so I wear the Silver Sonic in places I wouldn't wear my hearing aids. It will not restore your hearing to what it was, but will improve it from what it is now.

hearing device Dec 29, 2010
By nlp I bought this for my husband who does not think he has a hearing problem. He put it on and he was amazed at what he has been missing. This is a great product for the money. I would recommend it for someone that has some hearing loss and is not ready for a hearing aide. It is lightweight and adjustable and battery charge last for as long as a day or more.

Fair Enough Aug 14, 2011
By TouchStone Got one of these for my 80 y.o. father. Like all hearing aids, it amplifies everything - nothing to be done for that - but for the price, it works fine. He likes the three different sized ear-plugs for fit, and the ear-hook to keep it in place, and unlike the ones with the mike/amp in a box with ear buds, it doesn't pick up the sound of being moved around. He asked me to order another one, since he's not a slave to fashion and just wants to hear conversations again.

Sound Amplifier Jun 23, 2011
By teddy I bought the Silver Sonic Personal Amplifier instead of the $500 analog amplifiers advertised. I wanted to see if using this type of earing aid would help. At first, the sound amplifier had a lot of feedback which made it useless. But after some adjustments (turn down the volume) it did amplify the the sound. It amplifies all the sound, background noise and voice. I would not recommend this product if you want to improve your hearing. if you want to listen across the room and hear everything, then this should work. i had trouble with keeping the amplifier on my ear also. i probably will look into a digital hearing aid instead.

Didn't Work For Me Dec 04, 2011
By jpenn Having tried the expensive hearing aids, with poor results, I thought this might be an inexpensive solution. Because my hearing frequency response is very poor, this devise was a waste of money for me. Works fine for picking up distant sounds, but too bassy for personal conversations or TV.
