One of two essentials for Stainless Cookware Jun 21, 2010
By FreeAtLast There are two essentials for stainless cookware -- Bar Keeper's Friend and vinegar.
Bar Keeper's Friend will remove the dark stains and those bits of food that don't quite come off after you heat up water in your pan. It serves the function of a cleanser without incorporating the grittiness that can mar the finish of your stainless.
So, what's the vinegar for? Salt or other factors can create a chemical reaction with the stainless that may generate colors that bear a remarkable resemblance to the colors of an oil streak -- blue and pink stains that cannot be scrubbed off. But, put some cider vinegar into some water and, voila, those oil-streak colors vanish!
Between the two, you can keep your stainless looking factory fresh for years. YOu don't need to use both each time out -- possibly neither. The nature of what you're trying to eliminate from your pans will tell you which to use.

All I can say is WOW Jan 02, 2010
By M. Karazim I couldn't find this or any BKF products in any local stores, so we had to buy it online. I got it primarily because I have stainless steel cookware, and I was having issues with that annoying rainbow/discoloration on the insides of them. Some websites said my cookware was ruined, others recommended BKF. I am so happy I tried it! Not only does it take away the stainless discoloration effortlessly, but it also works on Corningware, Pyrex, and Corelle dishes. I had stains on my Corelle plates that had been there for years. It looked like rust. One swipe of the rag with some BKF (made into a paste) and those stains are history! I collect vintage Pyrex and it took some old, grey utensil marks right off the outside of one of my colored casserole dishes. My mom uses it to clean her porcelain sink and it works better than Soft Scrub, Bon Ami, or Comet. What a great cleaner from a long-established and reputable company!

Amazing Product, Great Value Feb 06, 2010
By cjc121 I just bought a new set of stainless steel Cuisinart pots/pans from Amazon & read the reviews about how difficult they are to keep clean. One of the reviewers suggested Bar Keepers Friend to remove the rainbow stains that form on the bottom of pots/pans while cooking. Sure enough, the Bar Keepers Friend took ALL the stains off, both inside & out. This is amazing stuff & should be recommended to everyone who has a lot of stainless steel to clean. Thanks again, Amazon.

Faithful Customer For Over 20yrs Sep 06, 2010
By Dreamer4710 I used Bar Keeper Friend in the kitchen and bathroom. I really like the job it does on the toilet ring. I haven't used scouring pads, since I started using Bar Keepers. I have a porcelain sink and the pots make marks, Bar Keepers cleans it right up. I also, get rust spots around the ring of the drain and it takes that right out. I had a Pyrex dish that had Pam stuck to it. I used Bar Keepers and it took it right off. I have used it to remove vanish from my hands, put in the drain to remove the sludge. You name it and I have used Bar Keepers Friend for it. I don't spend money on alot of different products. I find that Bar Keeper is all that I need. It is amazing!!!

Stinky, but works GREAT!!!! Oct 16, 2009

Stinky, but works GREAT!!!! All the brown burned on oil, the black burned areas come clean (well, mostly). Really, nothing works as well as this. Smells like metal when you use it, gives my wife a headache but I'm fine with it (I just hit the fan when I use it).
