4Nifty little thing - 3.75 stars  Apr 01, 2008 By swmmer608 "Lisa"
I liked the idea of this product so I bought it. It is relatively easy to use, with just a few pushes of two buttons, it can keep track of your daily numbers. It's very light . . . almost so light that I feel like it will break, but I have yet to break it. It has a "lock" feature so the buttons can't be pushed when in your pocket. It will also turn off if you haven't used it in awhile so that it saves batteries.

The one thing that I don't like is that it beeps every time you push a button. So if you are looking to keep track of calories discretely, know that it will make a beep every time you push a button. You may be pushing the button as many as 7-25 times to enter in a number. And might take you 3 times that, depending on how many things you are keeping track of. (ie: calories, fat and protein might be a total of 15-60 button pushes) I would not be able to "track" my calories in my office because people would probably ask what that beeping noise is. Also, in order to see the digital screen you have to be looking straight on.

All in all, I would recommend this product to people who don't want to write it down on paper or have to be by a computer . . . I would say it's worth the value (<$15). I would recommend buying a book with nutritional data or have a computer handy because you have to know the calories to be able to "track" them.

4A great aide to help you stick with it  Feb 15, 2008 By Maxlive
I needed to cut calories, but was not interested in planning everything I wanted to eat. With this easily affordable device I just set the amount of calories I want to eat and then subtract the amount from the total as I go. It is very easy to set and even easier to track the calories throughtout the day. Other features are great in that you can track fat grams, carbs, and a custom setting to track whatever else you need. It is small and easy to carry in a pocket or pocketbook. It has helped me to lose the healthy pound a week since I started using it.

1nope, doesn't work, but YOU CAN RETURN it  Dec 24, 2011 By WRKelly
So, from the reviews it looked like 50% of these don't work. Playing the odds, I'm still thinking of ordering another one to replace the first one that arrived non-functional. The thing did nothing when I put the batteries in. (It turned out that the batteries were weak but not dead.)

Note that if you try to do the automatic return thing online, IT WON'T LET YOU. You've got to contact customer service. Amazon said (via Chat) that they would reimburse me the cost of buying new batteries to see if that helped. So I tried brand new batteries, and the thing made some pathetic beeps and groans (like a sad R2D2), but still got nothing on the screen.

Looking back at the reviews, I'm now realizing that these things worked in 2008 but not since... So, I think I might give up on it. However, I've found nothing else online that does what this does.

I'm now going to contact customer service again, and see how much trouble I have returning this one. They absolutely said that I can return it.

1money down the drain, bye bye not buy buy  Mar 29, 2011 By suzzzzzz
This looked like it would be useful in tracking calories or weight watcher points. It also looked very convenient to carry around. However the bad news is one of the white buttons now is suppressed and will not work and also will not come up out of the plastic unit. I think i used this 4 ? times total and did not put in purse or carry it around either relative to it being broken.

1Flimsy  Nov 03, 2009 By Shorty "Shorty"
This item was very fragile and broke before I even had a chance to see if it was useful. Not worth the time or effort to return it though.
